There are 2 types of people in this world; those who love Ikea, and those who despise it. We fit into the former category, especially since Scarlett has been on the scene. For those unfamiliar with the shopping experience that is Ikea, allow me to summarise. It is a huge, HUGE Swedish company which sells pretty well everything that goes into your home, from floor, to ceiling and everything in between - even the kitchen sink. With such a big range of furniture, their key to keeping prices low is by flat-packing everything, meaning you assemble each item yourself at home. This is indeed the catch. They also have a wonderful restaurant, and don't even get me started on the hotdogs... For a more neutral perspective see the Pleasure and Pain of Ikea (thanks Kevin & Jane!).
I digress. As Friends of Ikea, we were invited to a pre-sale sale. We turned up at 8am with a fair number of Singaporeans to get the bargains before the rest of the plebs were allowed in at 10am. An hour later, Miles and I were eating chicken wings and fish and chips in the restaurant, washed down with our free tea and coffee. Suffice to say we had bought a LOT, but on closer inspection only 2 items purchased were actually on sale. We are investigating getting the word SUCKER tattooed on our foreheads.
One of the things we bought were these crazy mirrors you see in the photos above. This is our attempt to create a stimulating environment for Scarlett at her level. No prizes for guessing who the primary school teachers are! Anyway, Scarlett loved them. She spent ages talking to her many selves reflected in the mirrors and telling them all sorts of juicy gossip. Or so it appeared.
