Helpfully, Scarlett's birthday fell on a Saturday. Somewhat unhelpfully, it was the same day Miles left for Vietnam on a school trip. In order for Miles to enjoy some of the festivities, we had a brunch party (highly recommended) with the few people who were still in town over the mid-term break.
We ducked out to Coffee Bean and got a giant takeaway thing of coffee (similar to a cask of wine, but a coffee version), made pikelets (unheard of outside of NZ), berry muffins and that was about it. Easy and fun.
Scarlett is sitting in front of a GIANT pile of presents, thanks in large part, to you!
Wearing the most princessy of all princess dresses, courtesy of Nana & Poppa.

More bling-bling to match the princess dress.

Unwrapping a WICKED game from Shelley, Shim, Lauren & Nathan. Parents of 4 year olds, take note - this is a winner!

Showing off her new knickers from Great Nan & Grandad.

Eat your heart out Dorothy! A pair of ruby slippers from me! If only they made them in grown-up sizes...

Unveiling the doll's house.

Here they are putting the furniture into the various rooms. (It has to be said that Griff has destroyed a few items already...)

I couldn't find a Dolly Vardon pan to make the icecream princess cake Scarlett wanted, so her second choice was this:
Griffin followed Finnegan around like a bad smell, and was tickling him in this photo. Finn tolerated it admirably for the most part!
Blowing out the candles on the cake. I always love the sympathetic blowy faces you get from the other kids in shots like this!
Scarlett and Claire eating the icing off the cake. Why do I bother?
Scarlett was given this little doodle-sketch from George, and she told me this was a picture of (Great) Nan, and who am I to argue?
