I say 'other work laptop' because this new one is a demo model the company is happy for me to try out. We would like to bring these in for use at school, as they are much lighter and half the price, making them extremely portable and kid-friendly. So far I have had nothing but fun using it. I brought it home of course, and Scarlett had a go at one of the programmes our little guys use at school (2 Simple 2 Create).

It's basically a painting programme, but because there is no external mouse, Scarlett had to get used to using the touch pad. She did very well. You can see her in the photo above using one hand to click and hold, and the other to draw. It is extra tricky because she is left-handed, so she's 'drawing' with her weaker hand.

Here is one of Scarlett's finished drawings: her first piece of digital artwork. Lovely.

It seems that technology hasn't advanced all that much in some ways because that was one of the first types of programme that you girls learned to use on the B&W Apple Macs at the university (giftd Chn?) 0 as step up from the Apple 2e that you had the dung beetles on.
